Dr. Laura Hemingway, Founder.

With over twenty years experience of working within the education, training and learning sectors, I have witnessed first-hand the importance and powerful impact of exceptional writing.  Whether producing academic assignments or publications, delivering research reports or engaging new and existing customers through marketing campaigns, excellence in writing ensures accurate and effective communication, clearly conveyed ideas and enhanced credibility.

I have worked in various roles, including as a Lecturer, Researcher and Academic Coach, and in 2021, I expanded my provision to include marketing and communication support.  Whatever my position, I have always been dedicated to helping others to achieve their writing and research goals, delivering tailored support to individuals and organisations across the globe with differing needs, aspirations and requirements.

I began writing and editing publications in 2004, and my work has included journal and magazine articles, a sole-authored book, edited books, book chapters, conference papers, research reports, case studies, sector magazine articles and press releases.  I also have significant research experience, having been involved in research projects employing both quantitative and qualitative methods for organisations, including the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), the Office for Disability Issues (ODI), the Academic Network of European Disability experts (ANED), the General Medical Council (GMC) and Research in Practice.

In terms of copywriting and marketing, I began working with City & Guilds in 2021 as part of the team for the Princess Royal Training Awards (PRTA), supporting Awards applicants and recipients through the application process and at the Awards ceremony.  In 2022, I was brought in to deliver the marketing strategy for the 2023 Awards, involving an e-marketing campaign, e-workshops and support sessions, individual applicant support, internal and external communications, press articles and social media marketing.  The 2023 Awards cycle saw a 59% increase in applications on the previous year.  I have also worked with the Bursary team at City & Guilds to assist in evaluating the impact of the organisation’s bursaries and I support on a variety of different marketing projects with businesses and organisations across the world in my position at Laura Thackray Communications Ltd.

Through Intuition, I specialise in providing customised support with writing and research to organisations and individuals within educational contexts.  This includes providing marketing services to businesses, conducting research projects and producing research reports for organisations, and delivering support to individuals for writing and research in academic settings.
